Mrs. Jean Jones
October 29, 1929 — February 15, 2007
Jean H. Jones, age 77, Overland Park, Kansas, went to be with the Lord Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Delmar Gardens.
Jean was born October 29, 1929 in Lebanon, Missouri to Paul and Phylliss (Thomas) Harris. She was married to Tom Jones for 57 years and was a devoted mother and homemaker. After rearing three children, she worked for Dodson Insurance Company for several years as an executive secretary, retiring in 1994. Jean was an active member of Overland Park Christian Church for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Richard T. (Tom) Jones; three children, Susan J. Wahe of St. Louis, Robert T. Jones of Leawood, and Richard P. Jones of Omaha; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Family and friends will fondly remember Jean for her homemade chocolate chip cookies and her love of the game of Bridge. She will be sorely missed.
A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 19th at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. A gathering of family and friends will be held 1:00 ? 2:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service. Following the service, burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas.
