Jean H. Niemann, 95, of Overland Park, passed away Sunday November 10, 2013 at Overland Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Jean was born on March 2, 1918 to Howard and Vida Turner in Kansas City, Kansas.
She married Harold Niemann 1937. They made their home in Hutchinson, KS for over 50 years.
Jean was a Docent at the Kansas Cosmosphere for 20 years. She was an active member of the Uvedale Chapter of the DAR (Daughters of American Revolution). She was also involved in the choir for Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hutchinson for many years.
She enjoyed traveling and playing golf.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Niemann, her parents, one sister Jane Everett.
She is survived by her son Gary (Carol) Niemann of Overland Park, KS; two granddaughters, Candice (Charles) Wolken, Cynthia (Todd) Ray; four great-grandchildren, Cora, Cody, Clarissa, and Tyler.
A memorial visitation will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 , at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210.
In lieu of flowers family suggest contributions to charity of donor's choice in Jean's name.
