JEAN AVON WILSON, 86, Shawnee Mission, KS passed away 13, October 2013 from heart failure.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. 16 October 2013 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210.

Mrs. Wilson was born 19 June 1927 in Kansas City, Kansas. During her youth, Mom, an avid horsewoman, competed and showed horses in the American Royal.

She married Albert G. Wilson. They owned and operated Wilson Aviation at the Fairfax Airport which is in Kansas City, Kansas not the Downtown Airport across the river in Kansas City, Missouri. Jean received her pilots license for Single and Multi Engine Aircraft. She was a member of the 99's where she flew in Cross-Country and international air races. She was very proud to have once flown Kansas Senator Bob Dole.

Jean traveled worldwide to the South Pacific, Fiji Islands, Mexico and became an accomplished scuba diver. She enjoyed her dogs and ran a dog sitting business. Jean was always there for her friends taking friends to doctor appointments, shopping and even helping with their accounting.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Teri L. Madak; her mother, Dorotha J. Roberts; and her husband, Albert G. Wilson.

She is survived by her daughter, Tamara A. Puckett and her husband, Tom Puckett; two grandchildren, Sam Puckett and Cynthia Phillips and her husband Xavier Breurec; great-grandchild, Cheyenne Williamson.

Also survived by her son-in-law, John J. Madak; two grandchildren, Ross Madak and his wife, Staci Madak and Heather Langston and her husband Cory Cheek; two great-grandchildren, Owen Madak and Brayden Langston.

She will be greatly missed by friends and family.
