Mrs. Jeanette Peterson

Jeanette H Peterson, age 97, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2012 at The Sweet Life of Grand Court in Overland Park, Ks. Born on July 26, 1914 to Ruth H Best (Steffenson) and James B Best in KCMO, she spent much of her life in the area graduating from Rosedale High School and retired from Brand and Puritz as an accounts payable manager. Preceding her in death in 1987 was the love of her life Thure W Peterson. No two could have been more smitten with each other as they enjoyed many years of traveling and entertaining along with raising their only child, Shirley J Nachbar, who preceded Jeanette in 2010. Jeanette's ability to make family events and holidays special was always done with grace and pleasure.

Survivors include her grandchildren Roberta Hustead of Lee's Summit, MO, Ted (Linda) Nachbar of Gravois Mills, MO, Shelley Cimini of Las Vegas, NV, nieces Carolyn (Art) Tice and Mary (Ron) Renoe, and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, Thursday, May 24 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church 1700 Westport Rd on Friday, May 25 2012 with a one hour visitation prior to the funeral. Burial will be at 2 pm on Friday, May 25 2012 at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Jeanette's name to Immanuel Lutheran Church Memorials at 1700 Westport Rd. Kansas City MO 64111.
