Jeannie Marie Ragan of Leawood, KS passed away Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Saint Joseph Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 6th at Church of the Nativity, 3800 West 119th Street, Leawood, KS. Entombment in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Raytown, MO. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. with rosary recitation at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, October 5th at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will also be held 9:30-10:00 a.m. Monday at the church, prior to mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jeannie's name are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Little Sisters of the Poor, 8745 James A. Reed Rd. Kansas City, MO 64138.
Jeannie was married 40 years and she and her husband owned and operated a housing construction company. She cherished her family and friends, and was especially devoted to raising her four children. Her husband and children will always remember her unconditional love and optimism.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Genevieve Kratty; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. William Huxley, and Mr. & Mrs. Edward Galvin. Survivors include her husband, Dennis M. Ragan; son, Timothy Ragan, Boston; daughters, Lisa and son-in-law Jeff Lee, Overland Park, Becky and son-in-law James Morris, Leawood, Amy Ragan, Kansas City, MO; her twin sister, Judy Arisman, Leawood; brother, E.T. Jr. and sister-in-law Angie Kratty, Leawood, Aunt Helen Stevens, Kansas City, MO, Aunt Theresa, George Burger, Brighton, CO, Uncle Bill, Edie Huxley, Tampa, FL, Uncle Jim, Helen Galvin, Overland Park, and Aunt Helen Huxley, Lee's Summit. She had five grandchildren, Jackson, Aidan, Jett, and Adele Lee, and Max Morris; four nieces and eight nephews.
