Jeffery Alan “Jeff” Branton, age 39, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be 1:30 P.M. on Tuesday, January 26th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. The family will receive friends at the chapel following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Jeffery A. Branton Memorial, c/o Metcalf Bank, 11900 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS 66210; Ronald McDonald House; or Habitat for Humanity.
Jeff was born on June 4, 1970 in Stillwater, OK. He graduated from Field Kindly Memorial High School, Coffeyville, KS in 1988 and graduated from Kansas University in 1993 with a Masters Degree in Accounting. He was married on September 17, 1994 to Kelly L. Kimble. He participated in competitive swimming through high school and college. Jeff set a state record in the 50 freestyle during high school. After college he went to work for Coopers and Lybrand which became Price Waterhouse Coopers. He was part of the consulting group that was sold to IBM. Jeff later worked for Marketsphere Consulting before becoming CEO for Ticket Solutions, Inc. He worked there until his death. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching his daughters participate in sports, including competitive swimming. Jeff was active in Habitat for Humanity and Ronald McDonald House fundraising activities. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Coffeyville, KS. He was a loving husband, father, and son and will be sorely missed.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cecil M. Branton and grandparents, Raymond and Maude Wilson. Survivors include his wife, Kelly and daughters, Cassidy and Lindsay of the home; his father, Gene; his mother, Marva; and grandmother, Fran Daley all of Coffeyville, KS; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sandy and Harvey Kimble.
