Jeffrey Pearce

April 23, 1963 — April 15, 2009

Jeffrey "Jeff" Pearce, 45, of Overland Park, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at his home.

Jeff was born in Salina, KS to Duane and Janet Pearce. He moved with his family to Overland Park in 1968. Growing up he played football, baseball and basketball. He graduated from Shawnee Mission West in 1981. He then went on to Kansas State University and belonged to the Delta Upsilon fraternity. He graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor degree in Radio and Television. He remained in Overland Park and worked for KMBZ/KMBR radio from 1986-87. He then worked for the Retail Grocer's Assoc. from 1987-99. Lastly, he had a very successful career with Merit Medical Systems as a Sales Rep and then Regional Manager from 1999-2008.

On July 15, 1995, he married Sherry Fredensborg. They have two beautiful children, Alexis age 10 and Zachary, 5 1/2 (almost 6). He loved to play golf, although in recent years, he didn't have the time to play as often. He was also an avid K-State fan and rarely missed a home football game. He was also active in MLM as a volunteer for about 15 years and chaired two of their major fundraisers. He loved playing with his children and was always involved in their activities.

He was diagnosed with ALS in November 2007. In the early months of the disease, he tried all methods of slowing the disease, but sadly, could not. However, during all of the changes he endured, he remained a wonderful husband and father and will be forever missed.

He is survived by his wife Sherry, and both children, Alexis and Zachary; sisters Julie Pearce of Grand Prairie, TX and Jill Pearce of Overland Park. Both parents preceded him in death.

Visitation will be at the D.W. Newcomer's Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf on Sunday, April 19th from 5-7 pm. Funeral services are on Monday, April 20th at 10:30 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 119th & Lowell.
