Jennie M. Folken passed away in her sleep on May 13, 2018 in Lenexa, KS. Jennie was born in Brodhead, Kentucky to Earnest and Margie Gordon, one of six children.
Jennie met Russell Folken in early 1961 and after a brief courtship they were married. Their marriage lasted 49 years and produced three children.
Jennie worked in retail in Olathe, KS for many years, but retired from the industry in 1984 to become a full-time grandma.
In 1990 Jennie and Russell moved to Somerset, KS and shortly afterwards she started working at the Louisburg Cider Mill. Jennie also worked for the Paola, KS school district for a short time until failing health forced her to permanently retire.
Jennie was a kind and charitable woman who was rarely if ever seen angry. She is a past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #700 ladies auxiliary.
Jennie is preceded in death by her husband Russell, her parents and all but one of her brothers and sisters.
Jennie is survived by her brother, Rev. Charles Gordon of Evansville, Indiana; son, Jeff Folken and his wife Cheryl of North Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Mary Ann and her husband Eddie Floerke of Olathe, Kansas; son, Ed Folken and his wife Angie of Lees Summit, Missouri; three granddaughters, Jennifer Seabaugh of Birmingham, Alabama, and Elizabeth and Cassidy Folken both of Lees Summit, MO.

A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, service 11 AM, on Monday, May 21, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Olathe, KS.
