Jenny Lynn Bratton

November 15, 1971 — January 10, 2018

Jenny Lynn Bratton, 46, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 PM with service at 6 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel.

Jenny was born November 15, 1971 in Kansas City, Missouri to Deborah (Case) and John Bratton. She attended Shawnee Mission North High School and participated in various sports such as cheerleading, track and field, and bowling in the Special Olympics. She was fortunate enough to have competed in the Special Olympics for the very first time in Honolulu, Hawaii! After high school graduation in 1994, she went to work for Johnson County Developmental Services for over 20 years, a job which she loved and took great pride in. Jenny was known as being meticulous and always rising above the expectations set before her.

She enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, and her most favorite, dancing. She was an avid Chiefs fan and always loved to watch them play. She once won first place in a darts competition hosted by the local VFW and certainly never let any of us forget it.

Jenny touched the life of every person she ever met. She had a smile that lit up a room and never had an unkind word to say about anyone.

She was preceded in death by her father, John; step-father, Marlin Benson; paternal grandparents, Neva and Roger Gordon; maternal grandfather, Bill Case; and maternal grandmother, Wanda Brizendine.

Jenny is survived by her mother, Deborah; brother, John David Bratton (Margot); three sisters, Angela Whitley (Matthew); Mahealani McFarland and Lei Bratton; step-mom, Saundy Bratton, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Johnson County Developmental Services, 10501 Lackman Rd, Lenexa, KS 66219.
