Jerry Brown

September 8, 1942 — January 3, 2018

Jerry Lee Brown of Lee’s Summit, Mo passed from this life to his heavenly home on January 3, 2018 in Edmond, OK at the age of 75 years.  He was born in Blue, OK on September 8, 1942 to Homer B. and Lola (Harris) Brown.  Jerry married Sue Wilson on August 24, 1963 in Blue Oklahoma.

Jerry graduated from Blue High School and Southeastern State University. The first 20 years of his professional career was in a financial position with TG&Y Stores Company in Oklahoma City.  In 1985 he joined the auditing firm of Howard Schultz & Associates where he served first as an auditor and later a Regional Manager.  This took Jerry and Sue to Evergreen, CO and then to Gilbert, AZ.  Later Jerry and his son, Craig, started the auditing firm of AudiTec Solutions, Inc. in Gilbert, AZ where he was still serving as Vice-President of Finance at the time of his death.

Jerry was a member of the Blue River Church of Christ in Lee’s Summit, MO.  He and Sue have worshiped with several congregations of the Churches of Christ during their 54 years of marriage.  He was blessed to have the opportunity to teach Bible classes at several of those congregations and to serve the Lord as an Elder at the Putnam City Church in Oklahoma City and later at the Alma School Road Church in Chandler, AZ.

Jerry was an avid sports fan and fisherman.  He loved coaching both of his sons in little league baseball, being an Oklahoma Sooner Football fan and a Kansas City Royals Baseball fan.  He loved fishing with his son-in-law both at Lakewood Lakes in Missouri and at Beaver Lake in Arkansas.,

Jerry is survived by his wife Sue, his daughter and son-in-law Cindy  and Steve Curd of Lee’s Summit, MO, his  sons and daughters-in-law Craig and Becky Brown of Gilbert, AZ  and Scott and Jennifer Brown of Overland Park, KS; 9 grandchildren, Meredith Curd of Mission, KS, Braden Curd of Lee’s Summit, MO, Makenzie Brown, Hayden Brown, Evan Carcary and Kyle Carcary all of Gilbert, AZ, Jolie Brown, Quinn Brown and Sage Brown all of Overland Park, KS; brother, Granville (Skip) Brown and wife Charlotte of Marion, IN, , sister Wanda  Johnson of Mustang, OK, sister Ellen Faye and husband Richard Brewer of Edmond, OK; a sister-in-law Jane Ford of Lone Tree, CO; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Homer B. Brown, Jr. and a brother-in-law, Mike Johnson.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018, 3:00 PM at Blue River church of Christ, 221 NE Woods Chapel Road, Lee's Summit, Missouri 64064

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund, 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, TN 37211.
