Jess W. Shepherd, 87, of Overland Park passed away July 5, 2008. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 10-11am at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Funeral services will follow at 11am at the chapel. Burial at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer?s Association, 3846 W. 75th St. Prairie Village, KS 66208.
Jess was born June 3, 1921 in Arkadelphia, AR. He owned J.B. Distributing for 36 years. Mr. Shepherd was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Shepherd in 2000. He is survived by his loving wife, Fern Shepherd of Overland Park; 2 sons, Steve Shepherd and wife Diane of Holden, MO and Shawn Shepherd and wife Carrie of Overland Park; and two grandchildren, Jessica Staub of Olathe and Brett Shepherd of Overland Park.
