Jimmy Joy Reimbold, 85, Stilwell, Kansas entered into Heaven on July 16, 2018. Jimmy was born April 13, 1933 in Pineville, Missouri and graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She received her nursing degree from Avila College and her Masters degree at Webster University. Jimmy loved and deeply enjoyed her nursing career and helping others. During her career, she worked in the ICU at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, was a visiting nurse, then the Jewish Geriatric Center where she was the Assistant Director and retired as the Director of Nursing from the Johnson County Nursing Center in 1998. After retiring, Jimmy volunteered two days a week at the Johnson County Health Department where she could still care for others. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and was active in the Backpack Ministry all at Church of the Resurrection where she was a member. She enjoyed reading and studying the bible and also completed all of the Disciple classes at the church. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano, spending time with children and was an avid walker. Jimmy was preceded in death by a son, Richard James Reimbold. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jim; daughter, Carrie Smith and her husband Rick; three grandchildren: Austin Smith and his wife, Lauren, Landon Smith and Natalie Smith; two great-grandchildren: Liam Smith and Audrey Smith; and her lifelong best friend of 57 years, Dorothy VanLerberg. Jimmy will be deeply missed by her family and friends but we find comfort in knowing she is in paradise with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Private family services are planned for Jimmy. Memorial contributions in memory of Jimmy, may be given to the American Cancer Society.
