Joan Culver Alberg (July 27, 1931 ? August 9, 2008) was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Joan was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to Vivian Porter and John D. Culver. After moving to Topeka, KS in 1943, she met the love of her life, Hank Alberg, in the 8th grade at Boswell Jr. High. Both Joan and Hank graduated from Topeka High School, class of 1949. Joan adored and was very active in the Topeka High School Historical Society & Alumnae Association. She attended KU and graduated from Washburn University in 1953. She enjoyed her association with the Delta Gamma Alumnae group as well as the Jr. League of Kansas City, MO. Joan had a special place in her heart for her loving friends in the AV Chapter of P.E.O. sisterhood.
Joan is survived by her husband of 54 years, Henry B. Alberg; her children and their spouses: Steven Alberg, Nancy & Chuck McGuire, and Sally & Charlie Watts; 8 grandchildren: Henry Alberg, Maggie McGuire, Johnny McGuire, Katy Alberg, David Watts, Steven Watts, Callie McGuire and Francie Watts; one great grandson Aidan Alberg-Koonse, and many loving cousins and friends.
