BLACKHALL Joan Belle Anderson Blackhall, 79, of Overland Park, Kan., went to be with her Lord on Tuesday January 23, 2007.
Mrs. Blackhall was born and raised in Chicago Heights, Illinois. In 1947, she married Jack F. Blackhall. Together they raised three daughters in Homewood, Illinois. After a move to Texas, Joan began her 25-year career as a travel agent. Joan and Jack relocated to Overland Park, Kan., where she resided for 19 years. Joan was able to pursue her love of travel and explored the world with numerous adventures. She also enjoyed participating in many social organizations and church groups. Her proudest accomplishments, however, are her daughters and their families.
Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Jack F. Blackhall, her parents, Eric and Frances Anderson, and her sister June Neiman. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Kyle Miller, Diane and Lester Richardson and Audrey and David Power. Seven grandchildren, Kyle Reid Miller, Nicole Richardson, Leann Richardson, Keith Richardson, Gregory Power, Brian Power and Andrew Power, and three sisters, Violet Luecke, Dorothy Benner and Gayle Seward, also survive her.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday January 27, at Knox Presbyterian Church, 9595 W. 95th St., Overland Park, Kan. Inurnment will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are suggested to Knox Presbyterian Church, 9595 W. 95th St., Overland Park, KS 66212.
