Mrs. JoAnn Evans

Overland Park – JoAnn Evans, 81, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2015, in Overland Park. She was born on November 30, 1933 in Provo, Utah to William Berrey and Alice Bradley.
She married Boyd Evans on December 22, 1951 in Provo, Utah: they have been married for 63 years. They were blessed with 6 children; Sally, Susan, Michael, David, Patrick, and Russell. They have 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was an amazing mother, homemaker, and artist. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, serving in her church, and spending time with her husband, Boyd, and their family.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Boyd, her parents, her sisters Vivian Willardson and Barbara Goode, and her daughter Susan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7100 Hadley Street, Overland Park. The visitation will be Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Johnson County Funeral Chapel at 11200 Metcalf Avenue. An additional visitation will be held Friday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the LDS Chapel prior to funeral services. Interment will be at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, 11200 Metcalf Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Humanitarian Fund.
