Joanne Hall

October 25, 1953 — September 6, 2012

Joanne Lynne Hall
On the morning of September 6, 2012, Joanne Lynne Hall left this world and entered the Kingdom of Heaven, after a nearly two year battle with stomach cancer. Shortly after returning from vacation, she passed away peacefully and without pain, while surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by her son Scott Hall, who she was infinitely proud of, her sister and fellow shopaholic Karen Lewis, her long-time boyfriend Dan Haskamp, numerous family members, and her hundreds of friends.
Born October 25, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, Joanne was the youngest of three children born to Alfred and Helen Kropp. After graduating from Algonac High School in 1971, Joanne went on to Michigan State University. On May 24, 1975, she married her high school sweetheart, Chris Hall, in Algonac, Michigan. In 1981, she gave birth to her son and the light of her life, Scott, whom she raised on her own after the passing of her husband in 1988.
Joanne's careers included being a Practice Administrator at Blue Ridge Family Health Center and U.S. Oncology, a Clinical Research Study Coordinator at RxCCI, the Program Director at Concorde Career College, and finally a Senior Clinical Study Manager at PRA International.
After her family, Joanne's great loves were traveling the World, shopping (especially at Ross stores), and going to the beach. She also enjoyed fine dining, going to the movies, and playing bunco with her girls.
The kindness in her heart, and generosity towards others was unsurpassed. She was often called "mom" because she loved everyone as if they were her own.
While her loss has saddened the hearts of so many, the warmth of her love will not fade as she shines down on us from Heaven.
A memorial service will be held for her on Saturday, September 15th at 2:00 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel at 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66210; a memorial "luau" to celebrate Joanne's life will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make donations to the Joanne Hall Memorial Fund, which will be used to benefit cancer research. All checks or money must be labeled as "Joanne Hall Memorial Fund", CoreFirst Bank & Trust, P.O. Box 14968, Lenexa, KS 66285-9801.
