Joanne Therese Marx, of Mission, KS, age 87, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024.
Joanne was born on April 26, 1937, to Marion and Gertrude (Pavlak) Drzewiecki. She grew up in Leavenworth, KS, graduating from Immaculata High School. She was a long-time resident of Mission, KS, where she was a devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for nearly 60 years.
She loved her family, especially spoiling her grandchildren, and would take every opportunity to spend time with them. She delighted in exploring new places, going on field trips, and playing cards or boardgames when together. She also held a special place in her heart for her numerous pets who always became part of the family as well. In her spare moments, she enjoyed reading, shopping, and decorating the house for various holidays including Christmas when she would display her collection of snowmen.
Aside from being a loving mother and homemaker, Joanne worked in the JCPenney Credit Office for 30 years before retiring.
She is survived by her two children, Dianne (and Mike) McCoart and Stephanie (and Brett) Dietrich, her siblings Mary Lou Hall and Tom Drzewiecki, and her nine grandchildren: Collin (and Hannah), Brandon, Alaina, and David Dietrich; and James, Alex, Reed, Miracle, and Silviah McCoart.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 6th, at 1:00 pm, at St. Pius X located at 5500 Woodson Rd, Mission, KS 66202.
