Joe L Norton 66, passed away among friends on Saturday, January 19, 2008.
Joe was born on January 1, 1942 in Shattuck, Oklahoma, grew up in Caldwell Kansas, and proudly claimed the University of Kansas and KU Law School as alma maters.
Joe married his life partner and wife, Jane, who survives him, on December 19, 1964. He started a private legal practice in Olathe over 40 years ago and most recently was senior partner at Norton, Hubbard, Ruzicka, Kreamer & Kincaid, LC, of Olathe, Joe's passions included his family, friends, golf and KU sports.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Norton. In addition to Jane, Joe is survived by his father, Fielding L. Norton; his father-in-law, James Bushfield; his brother, Fielding L. Norton II; his children, Sallie Ben Attar, Jay Norton and Sarah Jane Stevenson, as well as his 7 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Joe on Thursday, January 24th at 3:00 p.m., at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, in Overland Park, to be immediately followed by a celebration of Joe's life with his family at Brookridge Country Club, 8222 W. 103rd, Overland Park. The family suggests donations in lieu of flowers to the Olathe Health System Charitable Foundation, Olathe Medical Center, 2033 West 151st Street, Olathe, KS 66061.
