John Cleary

John R. Cleary passed away on November 28, 2014 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.  He was 80.  John was born on July 8, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri to his parents, Clare Bramble and John R. Cleary.  He graduated from Bishop Hogan High School in 1952, received his undergraduate degree from the the University Missouri and a Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas City.  He married Cecelia French on January 5, 1963.  John practiced law in Kansas City for 54 years before his retirement in 2009. He was a widely known and respected litigator, recognized and awarded by his peers for his tenacious representation of clients and courtroom skills.  John is survived by his wife, daughter Courtney Cleary Erickson (Neal) of Overland Park, Kansas, his son John P. Cleary (Becki) of San Diego, California, and his eight grandchildren.  A memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas 66210.
