John W. Gagel
John W. Gagel, 76, a retired business executive form this area, passed away Tuesday, August 21st, 2007 at his home in Green Valley, AZ. At his side were his wife Shirley and his companion dog Lily.
He is survived by his three children, Pamela Gagel of Denver, Gretchen Gagel McComb & husband Dan of Denver, W. Kurt Gagel & wife Marion of Leawood; and the mother of his children, Jane B. Gagel of Overland Park, There are also five grandchildren, Clint, Jason, Heather, Holden, Regan and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Andrew.
John was owner and president of Machinery & Supplies Co. which he operated for over 35 years after the retirement of his father, George W. Gagel. He was also involved with raising and showing quarter horses.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 25th at 3 p.m. at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stilwell United Methodist Church, 19335 Metcalf Ave., Stilwell, KS 66085.
