John Groot, 95, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2007 at Lakeview Village Care Center.
John was born March 21, 1912 to William and Katie Groot in Rock Valley, Iowa. He retired from Associated Wholesale Grocers where he worked as an Office Manager. He helped start Kansas City Christian School and was a long time member of the Mission Road Bible Church. He was Treasurer at the church for 24 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita L. Groot, in 1995.
Survivors include three sons, Johnny D. & Karen Groot, Roeland Park, KS, Larry G. & Nancy Groot, Renton, WA, and Kenneth J. & Juanita Groot, Bella Vista, AR; two sisters, one brother, nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 21 at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 20 at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Mission Road Bible Church, Kansas City Christian School or to Biblical Ministries Worldwide.
