John Jacks

John Richard “Dick” Jacks, 74, passed away Saturday June 18, 2016 at his home in Leawood, Ks.  A graveside service will be held 10:00am Saturday June 25th at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa.  Dick was born in Kansas City, Kansas and was a lifelong area resident.  He graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1960.  He served in the Army for four years and worked for Deluxe Check Printers for 38 years before retiring.  He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.  Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Seeley Jacks and Marie Florence (Pyle) Jacks and his brother-in-law, Doug Swisher.   He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Penny (Gabel) Jacks; two sons and their wives and one granddaughter: Christopher (Meggan) and their daughter Kora Jacks; Nicholas (Christa) Jacks; one sister, Beth Sirna;  Sister-in-law, Toni Swisher;  nieces and nephews: Richard Sirna(Robin) and their children, Jacob and Jenny; Michael Sirna(Tracey) and their children, David, Dan and Andrew; Bill Sirna; Kate Hannam(Dan) and their son Jack; Erin Srsen (Pete) and their son Ben; Ryan Swisher and his son, Reese.    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given in memory of Dick to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 34, Care of John Hoehn,  9025 Pflumm Road, Lenexa, Kansas 66215-3359.  or St. Jude’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
