John T. Malone, age 70, of Overland Park, KS, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 at home. He was born on December 31, 1942 in Lawrence, KS to his parents, James B. and Agnes (Schwamborn) Malone. John was the sixth of seven children. He married Beth Dawson in Miami, Oklahoma on March 4, 2011. He grew up in Lawrence, KS and attended KU and later DeVry University. He was self employed and co-owner of a computer support company and a photography service. Lately, John was the drummer for the Stranger Creek Band. He played the drums and the bass guitar for many bands over the years. He was also inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in 2008 as a member of the group Ann Brewer and The Flames. He enjoyed telling jokes and photography. John will be remembered by his loving wife, Beth; his two sons, Dan Malone and Shawn (Kelly) Malone, his daughter, Suzanne (Bryan) Witt; his three grandchildren, Braden, Jessica and Annika; and four step children, Angie (Johnny) Martin, Scott (Erica) Goscha, Cindy (Joe) Hansen and John (Chris) Goscha. He is also survived by a brother, Tom (Ellen) Malone; a sister, Ellen Brown. Preceded in death by parents; and four brothers, Ben, Joe, Bob and Paul Malone. Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for John between 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210.
