John V. Minor, husband, father, and former dental industry business owner passed away on January 27, 2020 at age 64 in his hometown of Kansas City. The cause of passing was due to complications during surgery related to previous medical conditions including COPD. His family and friends were there to comfort him during his peaceful final hours. He is survived by his wife Annette M. Minor, his two sons, John L. Minor and Thomas W. Minor and will be missed by many. He is predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Lawrence Minor.

John was raised in Leawood, KS and adopted by Evelyn and L.V. Minor. He attended Shawnee Mission East High School and K.U., developing lifelong friendships. John continued the family business, Plaza Dental Laboratory, that LV had built in the late 50’s. He continued to utilize these skills and network to provide for his family for many years to come.

John married Kansas City local Annette Unger on March 30, 1985, living a great and loving marriage. He was able to see both of his children graduate college and pursue professional careers. His oldest son John is currently engaged and living in Reno, NV. His youngest son, Thomas has happily returned to KC and is running a sign and parts fabrication business.

John had a passion for all Kansas and Missouri outdoor activities, most important his cabin at the Ozarks, as well as everything from hunting and fishing to cars and motorcycles. Many of these passions he inspired in others and passed on to his sons. He left a mark on many around KC, memories of plentiful laughs, and striving to be a provider of great times.

John’s visitation and Celebration of Life will be held July 11, 2020, 3:00-5:00PM at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel in Overland Park, KS. Flowers, condolences, and friends are welcomed to Johnson County Funeral Chapel for that day of services.
