Mr. John Pierce

John Byron Pierce, 73, passed away peacefully Friday, April 3, 2009. A celebration of John's life will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 9 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. Friends may call on the family 9:30-11:00 a.m. before the service at the chapel. A graveside at Leavenworth National will follow at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to The Human Society or The Salvation Army. John was born May 13, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri. He spent 4 years in the U.S. Navy followed by a lifetime in sales, retiring in 1999 from Smurfit-Stone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ethel; and his brother, Charles. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Gilbreath-Pierce; 2 sons, Keith and Bradley; and 4 grandchildren. Arr: D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 913-451-1860.
