John Joseph Trinkl III, 85, passed away Friday March 2nd 2018 surrounded by his family.
John was born on Nov. 22, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1951. He was a Seaman in the US Navy and served in the Korean Police Action in Great Lakes Fla. from 1952-53. He became an apprentice as a lithographer and later a journeyman. He became a business owner at Colorite and later at TransAmerica Color Systems in North Kansas City, Missouri. John married Marjorie Stobaugh in 1960 and they were married for 57 years. John retired from lithography in 1997 and entered a career in Real Estate at Reece Nichols from 1998 to 2018. He was a member of the Prairie Village Lion’s Club where he was President in 2005, a Melvin Jones Fellow and served as an Audio Reader and Describer for the blind. John served faithfully as a minister in the Community of Christ Church, Mission Road Congregation where he was a 50+ year member of the choir, tirelessly coordinated hospital visits and home communion to members. John was on the board of Camp MITIOG serving as Camp Pastor for many years. He was a protector, provider, pianist, lover of life, dogs, Bavarian Sauerbraten, KU Basketball, fishing, snow skiing, bridge, growing tomatoes, learning and googling everything he didn’t yet know.
John is survived by his wife Marjorie (Stobaugh), daughter Julie Canterbury and husband John, son John Trinkl IV, daughter Jennifer Libeer and husband Brian, grandchildren Brad, Kathleen Trinkl, Jake, Joe, Allie and TJ Libeer and beloved dogs Charlie and Max. John is survived by nieces Mary Haugan, Karen Caboor, Laura Crozier, Pamela King, nephew Jim Stobaugh. He is preceded in death by his sister Geraldine Meyer.

A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, March 18th at Mission Road Community of Christ Church, located at 7842 Mission Rd, Prairie Village, KS 66208.
