John Cornelius Wade
John C. Wade was born April 13, 1941 in Somerville, MA. John died peacefully at home in Overland Park, KS and went to his Lord on April 28th, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Margaret Wade and his son Thomas Edward. John is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Cheri MacLeod Wade and his children John II (Kate) Wade, Madelaine (Mike) Lombardo, Amy (Will) Darrigrand and Daniel Wade. He is also survived by eight grandchildren Mirahnda, Michael, and Thomas Lombardo, Nora and Margaret Wade, and Katherine, Emily and Sean Darrigrand, and his brothers Edward and James Wade and several nieces and nephews.
John was an honors graduate of Boston College. He was President of JCWade and Associates and the former CIO/VP at Saint Luke's Health System of Kansas City where he served for 15 years. John devoted over 40 years of his career to developing Information Technology for the Healthcare industry, and was a Fellow of both HIMMS and CHIME. John was past chairperson of the HIMMS national Board of Directors. He was recognized as one of the top CIO's by Computerworld Publications.
John enjoyed being a handyman and was full of life, fun loving, adventurous, and never met a stranger in his world travels. In his life he was known by many titles but none were more important to him than Dad and Papa. His passionate faith, tireless energy, and deep love for his family and work were boundless and set an example for others to emulate. He thanked God for every day.
John lived life to the fullest and made every day count. We are all blessed to have had the opportunity to share in his life experience and have become better people because of it.

Visitation will be held at Doherty Funeral home in Somerville, MA on Sunday May 6th from 5-8 P.M.
Funeral mass to be held on Monday, May 7th at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Church, Somerville, MA.
On Monday, May 14th a celebration of life will be held at D.W. Newcomer's Sons, 11200 Metcalf Ave. Overland Park, KS fron 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
John was a faithful parishioner of The Church of the Ascension in Overland Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America or The Saint Luke's Foundation.
