John Henry Yager, 90, passed away Wednesday November 20, 2013.
John was born on January 29,1923 in Warsaw Missouri. After graduating high school he moved to Kansas City in 1941. In 1942 he was drafted and served in the Air Force for 2 years repairing B24 Bombers in Norwich England.
Following his service he joined the Merchant Marines and supplied bases throughout the Pacific for 18 months. John returned to Warsaw, and married Mary Cleola Rice and moved back to Kansas City. John was employed by Proctor and Gamble in Kansas City , Kansas for 37 years and retired in 1982.
He was a devoted husband to Mary Cleola Yager (1924-2002) and his surviving brother Paul Yager and Dorothy Saunders. He was a loving father to Michael John Yager (1953-1980) and Judy Kay Rush, Father-in-law to David Wilhm and Donna Yager. He leaves his grand children Chandra Sills, Adam Yager, Aaron Yager, Lindsey Wade and Lyndon Wade. He also leaves his great grand children Henry Rush Wade and Ford Michael Sills. He was loved and will be missed by his extended families of Wade, Chandra, Clarke, Greene, Wilhm & Yager.
Services will be at 2 PM at D.W. Newcomer's Son – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66213 on Saturday November 23, 2013. Family will receive friends from 1PM to 2PM on Saturday.
