Johnny Lambeth Sr.

October 16, 1932 — May 14, 2016

Johnny Earl Lambeth Sr., 83, of Bucyrus KS., passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 surrounded by his loving children.  He was born Oct 16, 1932 in Broken Arrow, OK to the late Attie Earl and Georgia Anna Lambeth.  Johnny was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ardella “Debbie” Lambeth and 2 sisters, Wanda Deshazer and Pat Russell.

Johnny is survived by his 2 sons, Mike (Rita) Lambeth, Johnny Lambeth Jr., and 4 daughters, Candace Elwood, Joni (Tim) Caswell, LeeAnna (David) Arbuckle, and Lonny (Leon) Rankin, 16 grandchildren who knew him as Papa, Robin Heim, Michelle Turpen, Mike Lambeth, Michael Elwood, Rachel Humphrey, Lauren Elwood, Jessica Swearingen, Jade Lambeth, Johnny Lambeth III, Josh Lambeth, Shanna Treas, Kelly Treas, Della Lambeth, Lana Lambeth, Jesse Arbuckle, Luke Rankin, and 24 great grandchildren.  He also leaves behind 3 siblings, Bud Lambeth, Norma Banks and Janice Ruff.

Johnny was raised primarily in the Kansas City, KS area where he met the love of his life, Debbie.  They were married August 21, 1954.  He never passed up the opportunity to say he married the most beautiful girl in the world.  In 1972, Johnny and Debbie moved their 6 children to the home they built together in Bucyrus, KS.

Growing up, he worked numerous jobs learning the construction trade from his uncles.  Through this experience he became a jack of all trades and a master concrete mason.  His sons later joined him in business creating Lambeth & Sons Construction.  He took great pride in the quality of his work and retired at the young age of 77.

Johnny enjoyed the outdoors whether he was tinkering in the garage, tending the garden, hunting for arrowheads, or simply mowing the lawn, rarely coming inside before dark.  In his later years he became a competitive long bow shooter earning a roomful of trophies and awards.
Above all, what he loved more than anything in the world was his wife, his children and all the babies.  Johnny was sweet and kind hearted. While he will be greatly missed here on earth, Heaven is everything he was always made for.
