Joseph F. Wilson, 84, Overland Park passed away peacefully June 17, 2009 at Kansas City Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2009 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park. A visitation will begin an hour prior to the service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.
Joe attended Ruhl-Hartman High School in K.C., MO. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942-46. After a 36 year career with Southwestern Bell he retired in 1984. He is preceded in death by his parents; Wilma Dean West, his sister; and Louise Wilson, his wife of 46 years. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; son, Steve Wilson; daughter, Nancy Langham; step-son, Robert Little; step- son, Rick Little; step-daughter, Scherry Comp; 2 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and 5 great grandchildren. He enjoyed his family and was dedicated to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
