Josephine Hester

October 30, 1918 — October 30, 2007

Josephine Ann Hester, 89, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, KS.

Josephine was born September 12th, 1918 in Grand Rapids, MI and has resided in the Kansas City area for the past 34 years. Her faith and gentle spirit personified the person she was. Even after suffering a debilitating stroke almost 12 years ago, she maintained her beautiful, peaceful demeanor. Josephine was very involved in her church, St. Ann?s, where she was a member of ?The Sounds of Joy?. This group sang at services and special events sponsored by the church. Vocal music was a lifelong pleasure for her.

Josephine also loved her family deeply. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Curtis A. Hester, and her sister, Mary Esther Masck. She is survived by her 5 children, Stephen Hester and his wife Dot of Overland Park, Mary Jo Petushek and her husband Gerald of Greendale, WI, Peggy Goralski and her husband Mark of Naperville, IL, Susan Leick and her husband Bill of Overland Park, and John Hester and his wife Glenda of Lenexa. Josephine was also blessed with 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. We will miss Josephine greatly but praise God for the wonderful work He did through her and look forward to the day when we are reunited.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Josephine?s name are suggested to Villa St. Francis, 16600 West 126th Street, Olathe, KS 66062.
