Mrs. Joy Campion

On August 6, 2013, Joy Ann Campion, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born in Atoka, Oklahoma on November 7, 1921 to the late Joel Terry and Anne Bennett Terry. She grew up in Wapanuka and Cache, Oklahoma and graduated from Cache High School; then attended Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma.
She married George S. Campion on December 15, 1944 in El Paso, Texas and they were married for 64 years. Joy Ann and George worked as a team raising six children, running the John F. Campion Realty Company, and enjoying life travelling, playing golf and having a rich and rewarding life with family and friends. Her husband George, her twin brother Jolly Terry, her son James Campion and her seven other siblings preceded her in death.
Joy Ann is survived by her children Tom Campion of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Debra Ann Craig and husband Robert Craig of Arvada, Colorado, John F. Campion and wife Sara Campion of Greenwood, Missouri, Terry Campion and wife Suzi Campion of Leawood, Kansas, and Janet Campion and husband Stephen Klotz of Tucson, Arizona as well as her grandchildren Jim Campion, Michael Craig, Stephen Craig, Lindsey Campion and Collin Campion and great-grandchildren Sawyer and Amelia Campion. A private ceremony will be held by the family at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel at 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas 66210. Contributions in the name of George and Joy Ann Campion to the Little Sisters of the Poor may also be sent to the Johnson County Chapel.
