Mrs. Joyce Howard Conley
September 2, 1936 — December 3, 2013
Joyce Elaine Howard Conley, age 77, of Kansas City, KS passed away on December 3, 2013. Visitation will be on Monday, December 9, 2013 from 9 to 11 am with services following at 11 am at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. Interment will follow in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Joyce was born on September 2, 1936 in Kansas City, KS to James D. and Dorothea Howard. She attended KCK schools and Sumner High School. Joyce worked at SWBT for several years and retired in 1991. She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at the 8th Street Baptist church as a teenager. Joyce enjoyed her family of seven children and loved to attend church, visit garage sales and shopping. She also played the piano.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd C. Conley, son, Nathaniel Stephenson, daughters; Theresa Jenkins and Terri L. Bolton, and her grandson, DeShaun K. Ivey.
Survivors include her sons; Joe L. Allen, Jr. and Bruce E. Allen, daughters; Adoria E. Bruce and Edie M. Allen, brothers; Arthur Howard and Jerry Howard, sister, Diana Kolen. As well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.
