Judith Dozier

Judith Lee Dozier of Leawood, 79, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022.  The service will be live streamed at:  cor.org/memorialsonline. Memorial contributions requested to the Shawnee Mission Education Foundation, 8200 W 71st St, Overland Park, KS 66204.

Judy was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on October 8, 1942, to the late Robert and Winifred  (Snodgrass) Phipps. Judy graduated from West High School in Wichita, the University of Kansas with a bachelor’s degree and received a master’s degree from Wichita State University.

She taught Spanish for 33 years in both middle school and high school in the Shawnee Mission School District, retiring in 2000 from Shawnee Mission South High School.  She loved KU basketball, traveling, reading, golf and the arts.

Judy is survived by her brother Mike Phipps and his son Brian Phipps (Kathy); sister Diana Wolff and her children Shannon Wedge and Jeff Wolff; great nieces and nephews: Zach, Kyla (Raymond), Dane, Jackson, Carly and Evan.  Judy will be greatly missed and forever loved.
