Judith Ann Skinner was born on July 6, 1937 to Harold and Dorothy Counts in Kansas City, Missouri. She passed away peacefully in her home in Overland Park, Kansas on December 29, 2016. As a devoted mother of two children, William (Kelly) and James Skinner, and two granddaughters, Frankie and Sammie Skinner. Judy was greatly adored by her family and friends for her ability to connect with anyone around her. As a youth, she played the organ at her local church, Gashland Presbyterian Church. She graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1955, where she was a part of the pep squad. Every month, Judy met with her high school classmates for a luncheon to continue the connection they shared. They were called the Lady Hornets. She then went on to attend Central Missouri State College, now called University of Central Missouri, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 1959. She was also a part of Sigma Kappa sorority during her time at Central Missouri. After graduating, she became a teacher, stayed at home with her two children and later held the position of the Prairie Village Court Clerk. She was a very caring mother and participated in their activities, such as becoming den mom for Cub Scouts. As she grew older, she enjoyed playing bridge with a great group of people, attending dinner theater and clubs like Leawood Garden Club and book club with her friends, and exposing her two grandchildren to the arts and theater. Throughout her whole life, she loved to garden, sew, cook and craft. She enjoyed making costumes and outfits for her grandchildren and herself. She adored her grandchildren more than anything and any chance she had she was attending their activities to support them. She was lovingly given the nickname, Juju, by her grandchild. She developed strong relationships with her family, friends and many other individuals along the way.
She is survived by her children William (Kelly) Skinner of Overland Park and James Skinner of North Kansas City and her grandchildren Frankie and Sammie Skinner.
