JULIA J. GRISSINGER
Julia J. Grissinger, 79, Overland Park, Kansas passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Menorah Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 P.M., Saturday, May 22, 2010 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, and Overland Park, Kansas 66210. A visitation will begin an hour prior to the service, also in the chapel. The family suggests contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, 10580 Barkley St., Overland Park, Kansas 66212.
Growing up Julia played post-guard on her high school basketball team and performed duties of Drum Majorette. At Maryville College she was granted the title of Tower Queen. Her younger siblings knew her as the lynch pin that held the family together. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include two brothers, Jack Polton and Reid Polton; three sisters-in-law, Mary Watt, Chris Polton and “Billie” Wilhelmina Grissinger; one son, John Grissinger; a dear friend, Susan Parsons; and many nieces and nephews.
