Juliette Williams Beeler (Ju-Ju) 79, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away March 1, 2009.
She was born April 3, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Williams. She graduated from Southwest High School and attended the University of Kansas where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She married Robert Beeler February 26, 1949 and together they celebrated their passion for ocean cruising 37 times. Juliette enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, and vacationing at the lake with her family and English Springer Spaniel, Katie.
In 1967, avid KU fans Ju-Ju and Bob began the Beeler family tradition of tailgating at KU’s Memorial Stadium. What began as an intimate family gathering has grown to an eagerly anticipated event enjoyed by more than 100 loyal fans each time the Jayhawks take the field. The tradition continues--- Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
As an incredibly talented designer/seamstress, Ju-Ju could transform a mere idea into a thing of beauty. In 1968 she founded Needlepoint End, and quickly became one of the most well-known needlearts finishing designers in the United States. Ju-Ju retired in 2008, but her amazing work will be enjoyed for generations.
Ju-Ju was preceded in death by her husband Robert Beeler, her grandson Joseph Bradley and her brother, Dr. Joseph C. Williams, Jr. Ju-Ju is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Robert Perry, Patti and Mike Mann, Diana and Bill Winslow, and Juliette and Scott Bradley, and son and daughter-in-law, R. Scott and Debbie Beeler. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter and one step great grandson, Jana Del Valle, and her husband Robert (and their daughter Morgan and son Zachary), Chad Perry and his wife Melissa, Becky Mann, Chris Mann, Bobby Beeler, Tommy Beeler, Austin Bradley, and Kit Bradley. She also leaves her sister Marie and husband Dr. A.I. Decker, brother, Robert Williams and sister-in-law Jeanne Williams. A private service for the family will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to English Springer Rescue of America, 720 E. Meyer Blvd. Kansas City, MO 64131.
