Justin Edward Jay, 33, San Diego, passed away January 9, 2011. A celebration of Justin’s life will be 11:00am Saturday January 15th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. The family will greet family and friends from 10-11:00am prior to the service. Because of Justin’s passion for music, the family suggests contributions to the Justin E. Jay Music Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home. Justin was born September 7, 1977 in Peoria, Illinois. He graduated from Blue Valley Northwest High School in 1995. He then attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence and graduated in 1999. He received his Jurisdiction of Law degree in 2002 from the University of Colorado. Justin moved to San Diego and had lived there for the past 7 years. While in San Diego Justin’s talent and passion for his music flourished. He was involved with three very well known and respected bands and helped with recording in the San Diego music scene. Justin touched so many lives in a positive way. His passion, humor and loving way were gifts to his family, friends and community. His brilliance was immeasurable and his love for others was immense.
Justin was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Edward Jay, his Grandfather Jack Robins and Grandmother Lilian Watson. He is survived by his mother, Rebecca Jay, Leawood, KS, sister, Courtney Jay Pesek and her husband Bob, of Overland Park, Maternal Grandmother, Janet Robins, Peoria, Ill, Nephews, Jonathan, Reece and Rylan Pesek. Aunts and Uncles, Jeff and Stacy Robins, Julie and Jon Vreuls, Cindy Ringel, Audrey and Jim Bell, many cherished cousins, relatives and thousands of dear friends.
