Karen Marie Winney, Olathe, KS, was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, January 18, 2015.
She was born in Moundridge, KS on May 15, 1935. Karen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Karen and her husband Bob founded and ran The Piano Man Music Center in Mission, KS from 1975 until 2006.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Winney, Sr. She is survived by her five children, Bob, Jr. and wife, Karen of Overland Park, KS, David and wife, Yana of Colorado Springs, CO, Kevin and wife, Teresa of Belton, MO, Kristina Bruner and husband, Jodey of Venice, FL and Alice Ferrante and husband, Stephen of Kansas City, MO; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was a mother to five and a second mom, Mama K, to many.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 1-2PM, Monday, February 16, 2015 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, Kansas. A celebration of Karen’s life will immediately follow at 2PM, also at the chapel. Interment will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
