Beloved wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, cousin and friend passed away on August 19, 2015. Born in Bemus Point NY on May 12, 1923, she is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Dick Sawdey, daughters Diane Porter (Bruce), Florence AZ, Mary Beth Funk, Olathe KS, 5 grandchildren; Matt Funk (Brooke), Alan Funk (Colleen), Lindsay Meyer (Brian), Kevin Porter and Dan Porter (Rachael), 11 great grandchildren, cousins and friends all over the world.
She was a homemaker extraordinaire, able to move her family across continents several times. She volunteered for numerous organizations: Akron OH Jr Women’s Civic Club, The American Women’s Club of Basel, Switzerland and Adopt-A-Family in Bradenton FL. She was a lifelong sports fan and a very avid, happy fan of the Kansas City Royals. Donations in her memory can be sent to Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 11100 College Blvd, Overland Park KS 66210. A memorial service will be held at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 1:00 with a visitation immediately following.
