Kathryn Smith

Kathryn E. Smith (Kathy) passed away on June 8, 2021, at the age of 73, with her beloved husband, James M. Smith (Jim), by her side. Kathy was born on March 17, 1948, in Washington, D.C. to Betty and Charles Berry. Kathy and Jim were married on June 3, 1982, and moved to Stilwell, Kansas where they enjoyed many years surrounded by kind friends and neighbors. Kathy was a sharp businesswoman and started her own company, Solutions Now, successfully recruiting professionals for many of the area’s businesses. Kathy had a lot of spirit, enjoyed chatting with anyone, loved her flower gardens, and spending time at the beach or poolside. Kathy is survived by her husband, Jim Smith, sister, Barbara Prenn, nephew Bobby Prenn, niece, Stacey Lawson, five stepchildren, James J. Smith, Kathleen Nicodemus, Kelly Brown, Karie Ford and Tracey Finn, and eight grandchildren. A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 16th at Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave.
