Keith Lester Kelso, 74, passed away on November 10, 2019. Keith was born on April 27th, 1945. He was born in Kansas City, Mo. to Lester and Bessie Kelso. Keith grew up in Fairway Ks. and attended Shawnee Mission North High School, where he met Linda Morrissette his future wife. Keith attended Kansas State University and he and Linda were married shortly after in June 1968. Keith and Linda then moved to San Antonio where Keith served 4 years in the Air Force. In 1972 they moved back to Kansas City to raise their family.
Keith began his sales career at 3M/Xerox, and later opened his own sign business, Semper Signs.
Keith was involved in coaching his son's and daughter's sports teams, and enjoyed watching his grandsons play football, he loved watching K-State games, Chiefs games, grilling, and tending to his garden and plants. His biggest love was fishing. He spent endless hours on the water and cherished telling (slightly embellished) fishing stories.
Keith is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Linda K. Kelso, daughter Kristin Nelson (Andy), son Brandon Kelso (Brittany), sister Karen Kidwell, and grandchildren Tyler (18), Ashton (16), Brody (13), and Hadley (11). Keith also leaves behind dear lifelong friends that have been by he and Linda’s side well over fifty years.
Donations can be made in Keith's name to Kansas City Hospice House.
Service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
