Kell "KO" Shell passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at the age of 80 after a battle with lung cancer.
Kell was born in Shell Creek, Tennessee, and moved to the Kansas City area in 1963. He worked for General Motors until his retirement in 1989.
Kell is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Jessie and his children and grandchildren: Debbie, her husband Steve, son Alex and "adopted" grandson, Colby; Rita, her husband Cecil and son Brandon; and David, his wife Beth and daughter Tara. Kell has three surviving siblings; Conley, Arlys, and Dale, all of Roan Mountain, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Faithie and Hubert, and sisters, Shirley, Oakie, Dee, Nell, and Ruth.
A visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday, July 3rd at D.W. Newcomer"s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf. A graveside service will immediately follow in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care located at 12000 Wornall, Kansas City, Missouri 64145. (Arrangements: D.W.
