Ken Zagnoni

August 7, 1937 — October 17, 2011

John Kenneth "Ken" Zagnoni left this life unexpectedly at his home in Overland Park, KS on October 17, 2011. Ken, the son of Margaret and John Zagnoni, both deceased, spent his boyhood in Rockford, IL. He attended Lawrence College in Appleton, WI and graduated from Wichita State University where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi. After 10 years at IBM, Ken joined Leo Eisenberg & Co. which was the beginning of his career in commercial real estate. He continued this career at Terra Venture and ended as the Principal of Ken Zagnoni & Co.

Ken is survived by his wife, Pat, his son, Gregory Zagnoni, Overland Park, daughter, Lori (Bob) Bridges, San Antonio, TX, Pat's children, Stephanie (Scott) Clark, Overland Park; Stephen (Cheryl) Stanberry , Independence, MO and Jeffrey Stanberry, Long Beach, CA., grandchildren, Tyler and Chandler Clark, Bethany and Christina Stanberry and Zachary Zagnoni; sister, Judi (Dale) Baker of Naples, Florida.

Ken died while reading The Wall Street Journal with Monday Night Football playing in the background – two of his many passions, reading and football. Traveling was another delight. Ken and Pat traveled the world and he especially treasured their numerous trips to Italy. In true Italian tradition, nothing gave him more pleasure than making certain that no one left his home hungry. His home was his castle.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, at D.W. Newcomer's Funeral Home, 112th & Metcalf, Overland Park, KS followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Kansas City Symphony.
