Kenneth P. Dunaway, Jr, age 94 of Lenexa, KS died peacefully on Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Ken was born on October 28, 1917 in Waverly, KS, the son of Anna (Cellar) and Kenneth P. Dunaway, Sr. He served in WWII as a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force Escape and Evasion Society and the Caterpillar Club. Kenneth was a charter member of Colonial Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, MO and a longtime member of Prairie Baptist Church of Prairie Village, KS.
Survivors include his daughters, Ginny Mori (Deano), Nancy Borel (Steve) and Peggy Bernath (Tracey); 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; one brother, Dean (Janet) Dunaway of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 66 years, Wanda, on April 28, 2007 and one sister, Cornelia Dunaway.
Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:00 AM, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Graveside services will immediately follow at Mount Washington Cemetery, Independence, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Rd, KC, MO 64114.
