Kenneth R. Roucka, 66, Olathe, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2009. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at DW Newcomers Son’s Johnson County Chapel 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the chapel. Cremation.
Kenny was born November 20, 1942 in Stanton, Nebraska. He graduated from Schuyler Central High School and joined the Army, January 1964, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Expert Rifle Medal, with an honorable discharge. After serving his country he went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring January 26, 2005. Kenny was a member of the American Legion. He was united in marriage to Peggy on September 15, 1973. Kenny loved and enjoyed his family tremendously and was a great friend who loved to help anyone in need. His biggest enjoyment in life was fishing, every chance he could get, making sure to catch extra for the neighbors. He loved to garden, raise flowers and never miss a Nebraska football game.
Kenny was preceded in death by his daughter Misty Kay, parents James and Marie, brothers Duane and Keith, family loyal pets, Saddie his fishing partner and Newspaper, his T.V. partner. Survivors include wife Peggy, son Hugh, daughter Suzanne, sisters, Karen and Darlene, brothers Lyle, James and Larry, brother and sister-in-laws, nephews, nieces and cousins and many friends.
