Kenneth E. Stuart of Merriam, KS passed away Feb. 2, 2014, surrounded by his family. Ken was born in Little Blue, MO. He spent his early years in Oakland, CA. The family moved back to the Kansas City area where he lived the remainder of his life. He served in the Korean War & was stationed in Greenland. He married Gwen Kendrick in 1959. Together they owned & operated nursing & retirement centers. They also ran Ken Stuart Construction, a residential & commercial building company. He was very proud of his Scottish ancestry, traveled extensively, and especially loved the ocean. He will live forever in our hearts! He was preceded in death by his parents; Dubert & Eunice Stuart, his wife; Gwen Stuart, brother; Alvin (Sonny) Stuart, step-sisters; Erma Goad & Arlene Basler, great grandson; Brogen Budig. Survivors include his children; Janelle (Kenny) Kinnison, Charlene (Ed) Osby, Reynelle Miller, Ken (Janet) Stuart, Erick (Aimee) Stuart, sisters; Jeanette Staley & Nancy Alexander, 14 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, February 14th, 1pm at DW Newcomer's, Johnson County Chapel, with Memorial Service to follow at 2pm. Memorial contributions may be made to City Union Mission.
