Laura (Mildred) Chowins, 89, of Leawood, KS died Friday, January 5, 2007 at St. Luke?s Hospital, Kansas City, MO. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 9th at St. Andrew?s Episcopal Church, 6401 Wornall Terrace, Kansas City, MO 64113. The family suggests memorial contributions to the church.
Laura was born May 22, 1917 in Lincoln, NE. She married Richard D. Chowins on February 12, 1939 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Lincoln, NE. She was a member of Trinity Guild and was President of Grace Trippe Guild at St. Andrew?s Episcopal Church. Laura was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Walker Righter and her sister, Mary Jane Marsden. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Richard D. Chowins, of the home; her daughter, Mary Carol Miller, Kansas City, MO; her son, Richard D. Chowins, Jr. and his wife Jill Renae, Cape Coral, FL; her son, Charles W. Chowins and his wife Judith Kay, Davidson, NC; three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
