Mrs. Laura Hansen

Laura Lucille Hansen, formerly of Olathe, died Jan. 18, 2010, at The Court of Overland Park. Lucille was born in 1926 in KC, MO, to Jacob & Hazel Schmitt. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Orville, George and Bob. Her husband of 56 years, Stanley, died in 2004. Survivors include her daughter Stana Hurd of Olathe, and her grandchildren Matt Hurd of Lawrence and Megan Merz of Pittsburg. Lucille worked for Farmer's Insurance Group for 25 years. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her devotion to her grandchildren. Her beautiful singing voice will be missed by the staff and her friends at The Court of Overland Park. Visitation will be at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection at the Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe Ave., on Sat, Jan. 23, from 2:30 to 4p.m., with a memorial service to follow immediately.
