LaVonne Roth Grossman was born on July 22, 1921, in Boonville, Indiana. She graduated from Boonville High School and attended Indiana University where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. LaVonne worked in the family Ford Motor automobile and farm equipment business for many years. During WWII, she worked at the local Draft Board. In 1983, she retired after 20 years at Peoples Trust and Savings Bank in Boonville, Indiana. She was a past President of the Boonville Tri Kappa Chapter. She partnered with her husband, Richard, in managing their family farm. LaVonne and her family were long-time members of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Boonville. In 1992, she and her husband Richard, moved to Lenexa, Kansas to retire near their daughter’s family. She was a member of PEO and Colonial United Church of Christ in Prairie Village, Kansas until her death in Lenexa KS at the age of 101 on October 14, 2022. LaVonne is preceded in death by Richard P. Grossman (husband of 70 years); Bertha A. and Louis L. Roth, (parents); Florence R. Davis, (sister); and Woodrow W. Roth, (brother). LaVonne is survived by her son, Philip R. (Pam) Grossman; her daughter, Karen E. (Mark)Tevault; and four grandchildren: Kelly K. and Kristina E. Grossman; Reed M. Tevault, and Ashton N. (Bryant) Tevault Shanks. LaVonne also leaves behind many cherished friends at Lakeview Village. Her family would like to thank Dr. Stephanie Garcia and the staff at Elara Caring Hospice and for their care and support. A celebration of life service will be held at Lakeview Village, Southridge, 3:00p.m. on Nov 5, 2022. In lieu of flowers, any contributions in LaVonne’s memory can be made to the Lakeview Village Foundation or Elara Caring Hospice.
